List of some friends and interesting things they are working on. Friends are listed in order of how much I like each person.

Furkan Danisman

Furkan studies statistics, causality, and ML. He says he works on answering “what if” questions. But to me that just sounds like overthinking. Smart guy though. He used to be ranked Challenger in League and now he’s challenged… by difficult math problems each day. Furkan is one of the most well read people I know. He loves to read about food, Turkey in particular.

Yongjin Yang

Yongjin said to not highlight his papers and “just put a Korean flag next to [him].” Maybe he was just being modest, or maybe it’s because he has ~1,000,000 papers. Regardless, this is my website and I take orders from nobody. Click here to see all his papers. Yongjin works on RL and self-improvement. One thing Yongjin is currently trying to self-improve is his pumpkin carving skills.

Rohan Subramani

Rohan is a carnivor. I like meat as much as anyone else, but Rohan is fanatical. Every time he meets a vegan person (without exception) he walks up to them and asks them “What if I told you that if you don’t eat this chicken leg, I will buy 4 more chicken legs thus ensuring that 2 additional chickens die. Would you each the chicken leg?”… And remember this is minutes after meeting the person. Anyways, he’s actually a really nice guy. Rohan works on AI safety. He worked a lot on chain-of-thought monitorability. He’s doing some pretty cool grant work at Coefficient Giving now.
